Summary: (abstract from thecb.state.tx.us) Closing the Gaps by 2015 was adopted in October 2000 by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board with strong support of the state's educational, business, and political communities. The plan, which is directed at closing educational gaps within Texas, as well as between Texas and other states, has four goals: to close the gaps in student participation, student success, excellence, and research.
Use: Closing the Gaps by 2015 outlines the priorities and goals for higher education by the Higher Education Coordinating Board. Early College High Schools will see how the ECHS model fits into those goals and gives strong background for the state and future of higher education partners in the state.
